iPod Nano Colored Cases: Love in Small Packages

Apple’s iPod revolutionized the digital music world. It is also known for offering a near-infinite amount of customizations that are possible through its available selection of colored cases, both from Apple themselves and from other, competing companies. These iPod colored cases allow the listener to customize the appearance of their iPod, giving them the freedom to express his or her personality through the tiny device he or she carries. These colored cases are not universal, however, and the iPod Nano requires its own specialized colored cases. iPod Nano colored cases are tailored to the Nano’s smaller size, in addition to catering to the wants and desires of users who are more likely to purchase this iPod rather than one of the larger models.

Why the Nano?

The iPod Nano appeals to those who want a personal music player, but don’t want the device to take over their lives. Older generation iPods, especially those endowed with large hard drives, are bulky. On the other hand, the Nano can slide comfortably into any pouch, bag or pocked. And with each new generation of the Nano, Apple shrinks the size even more. Consequently, colored cases offered for the normal iPod will be far too large with its smaller cousin.

Although there is a full range of iPod Nano accessories available to do just about anything a listener might need to enhance his or her music experience, the most popular accessories are colored cases, arm bands, and carrying bags. These accessories not only protect the Nano from the elements, but can also provide more accessibility; for example, with the arm band the listener can easily change settings, adjust the volume, switch songs and turn the iPod on and off while on a treadmill or out for a run in the park. The band slips around the upper arm, and securely holds the Nano in place. Colored cases provide protection for the outer shell, buttons and screen of the Nano; some cases are hard while others are nothing more than rubber or cloth sleeves. The lifestyle of the listener will dictate which of these iPod Nano colored cases he or she purchases, but they each serve the same purpose: accessibility plus protection.

Special Size Requires Special Equipment

While on the subject of the iPod Nano, it is worth mentioning that the size of the Nano will also affect docking equipment and any other accessories the listener may consider. Docking equipment can be used to charge the Nano or to hook it up to speakers. iPod Nano accessories are designed to cradle the Nano securely, allowing the touch controls to be accessed while simultaneously charging the battery. Since the uniqueness of the Nano is its size, the shape of the connections must also be unique. It is completely impossible to use iPod Classic accessories with a Nano: not only will it be ultimately unsuccessful, attempting to force the Nano into the larger docking station risks severely damaging both the equipment and the iPod itself.

You can browse and purchase iPod Nano colored cases and thousands of other iPod accessories at eBay and Amazon.
