HipCase Folio Review
An Elegant Case That Works With Whatever You Wear, From Suit and Tie to Jeans and a T-shirt
While the HandStands® iSnug iPod case we previously reviewed is an excellent case, great at keeping your iPod safe from the woes of the world, there is no mistaking the appearance of its polymer external shell, or that it is made for a rough-and-tumble lifestyle. If you want a case that looks a little more elegant, consider the leather HipCase Folio from Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO).
The HipCase is available in three models, fitting the 5th-gen iPod or iPod classic, the 3rd-gen iPod nano, or the iPod touch. The leather exterior is soft and supple, while the soft fabric interior will keep your iPod pristine. A belt clip keeps your iPod handy and secure at your side. The styling of the HipCase is just about perfect, and it won’t look out of place if you’re wearing it with a suit and tie, nor a pair of jeans.
The great thing about the HipCase is that you can access all the iPod’s controls and ports without taking it out of the case, even the docking port. To use the controls, all you have to do is flip up the front cover, and flip it down when you’re done. This is much more convenient than the iSnug, which has to be unzipped to use the controls, and the iPod has to be completely removed to use the dock. The cover even has a convenient hidden pocket where you can store cash, credit cards, or ID.
At an MSRP of $29.99, this is one fantastic-looking iPod case that anybody can afford. A hip case, indeed.
